OTRunner Tool

This tool establishes the environment for running OpenTools, i.e. a second instance of JBuilder. It allows you to easily test and debug your OpenTool.

Once installed, it appears as a separate sub-tab on the Run tab of the Project Properties dialog. In JBuilder 8 it appears as an option in the Type drop-down list on the Run tab.

• Select the OpenTool tab.
• Enter any parameters for the new JVM. These should include: -classic -Xverify:none -Xms8m -Xmx128m
• Enter any parameters for the new JBuilder instance, such as: -verbose
• Select other directories to scan for other OpenTools. The classpath for the current project is included automatically. However, third-party packages are not included (such as the contents of {JBuilder}/lib/ext). Any JAR files in the nominated directories are added to the new classpath.
• Press Load to recall a set of default directories, and Save to store the current set as the defaults. Use the remaining buttons to update the contents of the directory list.

Press OK to save the settings for the project. Press Cancel to quit without doing anything. Press Help to show this document.

Then Run or Debug your OpenTools project to start up a second instance of JBuilder with your tool loaded.

To install the tool, just copy the main JAR file to the {JBuilder}/lib/ext directory and restart JBuilder. Copy the documentation JAR file to the {JBuilder}/doc directory.
